We’ve all heard the old adage “practice what you preach.” CoursEval has been telling our customers for years how important it is for them to talk to their students and understand what they think about their courses and professors, and now we’ve done the same with our customers. CoursEval reached out to some of our core users to participate in an online focus group to help us understand how we’re doing and what we could be doing better. We used our sister company, Invoke’s unique online focus group methodology to engage 26 customers in an online, live discussion to delve into what these customers think about CoursEval and what they hope it will deliver in the future.
Braced for the brutal honesty that online research can deliver, we watched with bated breath as the feedback rolled in. We were happy to see that overall, customers are pretty satisfied with CoursEval and are renewing their contracts with us. Our customers told us that our tool is easy to use, gives them a great variety of reports to choose from and simplifies their lives by allowing them to automate emails. Plus they are very pleased with the customer service they receive from the AMS support staff:
“The customer service works extremely well…and the willingness of the team to incorporate new additions or work with different campus business practices is outstanding.”
But, as expected, we also learned of some areas where we can make CoursEval even better. Among some of the feedback we heard from our customers is that they would like CoursEval to make the search function more user-friendly and provide more options for faculty to customize or control their individual surveys. Additionally, they would like CoursEval to consider adding:
• Support for a complex organizational hierarchy with user definable roles for each level to accommodate the increasing numbers of academic and colleges which need to be included
• Allow participants to access the survey without needing to login to help improve response rates
• A calendar view of the survey schedule so they can easily monitor the large number of sessions they may be managing
Now, what are we going to do with this feedback? Well first and foremost, we’re going to continue to provide our customers with the very best customer service—something we know they value and appreciate. But we’re also working with a talented team of engineers to make our survey platform even better and all of these suggestions are being explored with the team for future versions of CoursEval.
